Continue reading if you would like more info on how I package my jewelry... In case you are wondering how your jewelry will arrive, I thought it would be a good idea to explain the purpose behind the process. I generally look for clean and simple packaging that, if at all possible is light weight, to save on shipping costs. The packaging also must be appropriate and effective for what it will contain and last but not least, it should produce as little waste as possible and/or is recyclable. I chose to use card stock as a jewelry holder instead of the plastic ones that are on the market, the same ones that you see in many stores. This helps prevent less waste. After all what is the first thing you do when you slip the jewelry off the plastic holder? Most of us would just toss it, never to be used again. The card that holds the jewelry contains all of my company and contact info. It also includes the name of the jewelry purchased, a list of materials used in crafting each piece and tips on how to care for it. I slip the piece of jewelry into a small jewelers ziplock plastic bag, this helps to secure and protect the jewelry during shipping and also helps to minimize tarnishing. Storing jewelry in this bag is recommended, so it serves a purpose, which is stated on the jewelry card.
Should you care to gift the jewelry, complimentary gift wrapping is available upon request in the comments section of the order form. The total shipping weight is a big factor, so that I can continue to offer free shipping. Consideration will be given, should I log enough requests for a type of gift box, however, shipping will not be free.
